New Delhi.: The results of PM-YUVA 3.0 (Prime Minister’s Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors) have been officially announced by National Book Trust, India (NBT) under the aegis of the Ministry of Education. The scheme, aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, aims to nurture young literary talent and encourage meaningful writing that contributes to nation building.

Under this edition, 43 young authors below the age of 30 years have been selected through an All-India contest. Their book proposals span 22 official Indian languages and English, including Assamese, Bangla, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Maithili, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. This wide linguistic representation reflects the programme’s focus on inclusive literary development across the country. Among the selected authors, 19 are women and 24 are men.

Each selected author will undergo a six-month mentorship under eminent scholars. In addition, they will receive a monthly scholarship of ₹50,000 during the mentorship period and a lifetime royalty of 10% on their published book.

The themes for PM-YUVA 3.0 include Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building, Indian Knowledge System, and Makers of Modern India (1950–2025). The chosen manuscripts are non-fiction works that explore India’s history, culture, science, philosophy, governance, social reform, and global engagement, offering perspectives on the nation’s past, present, and future.

A National Camp of selected authors will be organised during the New Delhi World Book Fair, scheduled from 10 to 18 January 2026. The first set of books under PM-YUVA 3.0 is expected to be published next year, with the objective of creating a new generation of writers who can represent Indian thought and literature both nationally and internationally.
