Mahendergarh: The Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Central Library at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, organized an induction programme for the “Research and Publication Ethics” (RPE) course, designed to familiarise Ph.D. scholars with essential ethical principles and practices in academic research and publishing.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 150 Ph.D. scholars representing various departments of the university. The RPE course, which is centrally coordinated by the Central Library, has successfully conducted five batches since its inception in the academic session 2020–21, reflecting CUH’s commitment to fostering a culture of research integrity and scholarly excellence.
Dr. Santosh C. H., University Librarian and Course Coordinator, extended his gratitude to Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, for his continued support and encouragement in conducting the course. Dr. Santosh also provided an overview of the course objectives, structure, and evaluation methods, emphasizing the significance of ethical awareness in research activities.
Dr. Rajeev Vashistha, Deputy Librarian, apprised participants of the extensive library services and academic resources available for research scholars, while Mr. Naresh Kumar, Assistant Librarian, introduced the array of e-resources and digital databases subscribed by the university library.
Adding a student perspective, Ms. Riddhi Agarwal, a Ph.D. scholar from a previous batch, shared her positive experiences and highlighted how the RPE course strengthened her understanding of responsible research practices. The programme concluded with an interactive session, where scholars engaged with the library team and discussed various aspects of research ethics and publication processes.
