New Delhi. : Students who want to pursue higher education but are in a bind because of the high cost of college may now apply for the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships 2026-27. Students taking up the first year of a UG program across India can apply for this scholarship. The scholarship is worth up to INR 2 lakhs.
For the 2026-27 session, Reliance Foundation plans to award 5,000 undergraduate scholarships through the merit-cum-means methodology. Applications are only accepted online and the last date to apply is October 5, 2026.

The Reliance Foundation states that the reason they created this scholarship is that they recognize the need for support for financially challenged meritorious students to pursue their higher education.
Who Can Apply for Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship?
The scholarship is for candidates who have commenced their first year of a full-time UG degree in 2026-27. The applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Have taken Class 12 examinations and scored a minimum of 60%
- Income of parent/guardian/family must not exceed Rs. 15 lakh
- Applicants with parent/guardian/family income es less than Rs. 2.5 lakh will be given preference
- Indian citizens studying in India
- Studying in NAAC or UGC accredited institutions
- Studying a full-time UG degree of a minimum of three years
Candidates applying must be younger than 99 years and studying a non-regular full-time degree; online or distance UG degrees are not applicable, and those in the second year or higher are not applicable also.
How Much Scholarship Will Students Get?
The amount awarded to candidates will be Rs. 2 lakh throughout their UG degree. It can be awarded as an annual grant for any academic expenses, including tuition, hostel, laptops, books, courses and study resources. The scholarship is renewable each year if the candidate meets the criteria, passes the exams, retains a good academic standing and completes the degree.
Mandatory Aptitude Test
Class 12 marks will not decide the award of the scholarship(s). Applicants will have to take the aptitude test, which is a part of the selection process. The material released by the Reliance Foundation for the test shows that the assessment is based on verbal, analytical and logical, and numerical proficiency. There is no cost for taking the aptitude test. Those who do not take the test will not be considered for the scholarship. So, taking the test is a good option. The test will have questions based on reasoning, language, and numerical skills, along with some problem-solving. Therefore, students should not rely on the performance of their board examination(s).

The scholarship is not just financial aid. Scholars get a range of opportunities like expert interaction, leadership and Soft Skills training, volunteering, and scholar engagement and workshops, along with mentoring. Scholars also get an opportunity to be a part of the Reliance Foundation Scholar and Alumni Community.
For the year 2026-27, the Reliance Foundation has announced 5,000 scholarships at the UG level and 100 scholarships at the PG level as part of the Combined Programme. This scholarship is financial aid with an additional opportunity for Mentoring and development of leadership skills.
