Puducherry: Puducherry Technological University has introduced the admission process for undergraduate engineering and architecture programmes for the 2025 academic cycle through the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC).
The university is offering B.Tech (Engineering) and B.Arch (Architecture) programmes, with the B.Tech course spanning four years and a three-year lateral entry option available for diploma holders. The B.Arch programme has a duration of five years and does not include lateral entry.
Admissions to these programmes will be based on merit lists prepared by CENTAC. For first-year B.Tech admissions, merit scores are calculated using the average marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics, and one optional subject. In the case of B.Tech Food Technology, the calculation considers Chemistry and two optional subjects.
In situations where candidates have identical scores, tie-breaking criteria will be applied in a specific order, including marks in Mathematics, Physics, the third subject, total marks, date of birth, and a computer-generated selection process.
For self-supporting and other state quota seats, admissions are generally based on JEE Main 2025 scores.
Eligibility criteria include an upper age limit of 21 years for direct B.Tech admissions as of July 1, 2025, with a relaxation of three years for SC/ST candidates. For lateral entry admissions, the age limit is 22 years. Candidates must also meet subject requirements, including Physics and Mathematics, along with minimum qualifying marks of 45% for unreserved categories and 40% for reserved categories.
Regarding fee policies, the university follows AICTE guidelines for refunds. Students who discontinue their admission may receive a refund after deductions, depending on the timing of their withdrawal and whether the seat is filled before the admission cutoff date. No refund is provided if the vacated seat remains unfilled.
