New Delhi: Dr. Talib Muhammad Sharif Omer from Kurdistan Region of Iraq called on Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) on July 4, 2022 to explore opportunities of academic and research cooperation between Erbil Polytechnic University, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kurdistan Region, Government of Iraq and JMI, New Delhi.
The Vice Chancellor, JMI welcomed the academic visitor and offered all possible cooperation in the field of education, exchange of faculty and enrolment of Iraqi nationals from Kurdistan Region of Iraq in JMI.
Later, he delivered a lecture on “The History and Cultural tolerance & coexistence of Kurdish people in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region” which was attended senior faculty members of the university.
Prof. Omer received his MA in TESOL at the University of Nottingham, UK and Ph.D. in English Language and Applied Linguistic in the college of languages at Salahuddin University-Erbil, Iraq.
The academic visit was facilitated by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi.
