Raipur, October 25, 2024 — The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, attended and addressed the 2nd Convocation of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur, underscoring the importance of accessible healthcare, commitment to service, and lifelong learning for the graduating medical professionals.
In her address, President Murmu commended AIIMS for its reputation in providing affordable and high-quality healthcare and medical education across India. She highlighted the significant public trust placed in AIIMS institutions, which draw patients from all parts of the country due to their esteemed services. Addressing the doctors, the President reminded them of their essential role in society, emphasizing that while those with privilege have many healthcare options, the hopes of the underprivileged rest on their dedication. She advised the doctors to focus on serving all individuals, especially the disadvantaged, who rely heavily on public healthcare facilities like AIIMS.
