New Delhi: Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi held a series of meetings with senior officials of the Ministry of Education to review key issues concerning school and higher education, with a focus on strengthening academic institutions, improving administrative processes and expanding opportunities for students.

In a meeting with senior officials of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Minister Joshi discussed issues pertaining to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The meeting reviewed key priorities for strengthening CBSE’s academic, examination and administrative processes, with particular emphasis on greater efficiency, transparency and improved support for students and teachers.

The Minister also engaged with officials of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) through a virtual meeting to discuss the evolving priorities of higher education and the way forward for strengthening academic institutions.

An important aspect of the higher education discussion was Khelo Bharat, with the meeting focusing on promoting sports in educational institutions, encouraging wider participation among students and nurturing sporting talent among the country’s youth.

The series of discussions reflects the Education Ministry’s broader focus on strengthening India’s education ecosystem across school and higher education, while creating greater opportunities for academic, extracurricular and sporting development.

The Minister shared details of the meetings through social media, highlighting the importance of efficiency, transparency, institutional strengthening and greater student participation in education and sports.
