NTA Gets Three New Officers: Ravi Kumar Singh, Prasanna Venkatesh Appointed Directors
New Delhi, August 27, 2026: The Central government has appointed three officers to the National Testing Agency (NTA), which functions under the Department of Higher Education.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), IPS officer Ravi Kumar Singh and IAS officer Prasanna Venkatesh V have been appointed as Directors in the NTA.
IRS officer Amit Samdariya has been appointed as Joint Director at the Deputy Secretary level.
Ravi Kumar Singh Appointed NTA Director
Ravi Kumar Singh (IPS: 2012: AGMUT) has been appointed as Director in the NTA under the Central Staffing Scheme.
His appointment will be for a period of five years from the date of assuming charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Singh's central deputation was recommended by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Prasanna Venkatesh V Named Director
Prasanna Venkatesh V (IAS: 2012: AP) has also been appointed as Director in the NTA under the Central Staffing Scheme.
His tenure will be for five years from the date of taking charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Amit Samdariya Appointed Joint Director
Amit Samdariya (IRS-C&IT: 2016) has been appointed as Joint Director at the Deputy Secretary level in the NTA.
His appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme will be for four years from the date of assuming charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Samdariya was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue.
Three Appointments in NTA
The latest appointments bring officers from the Indian Police Service, Indian Administrative Service and Indian Revenue Service into key positions at the national testing body.
