PM Modi Highlights Innovation, Healthcare and Education Reforms at Post Budget Webinar

Prime Minister outlines roadmap for inclusive growth and innovation-driven development during Post-Budget Webinar 2026–27. Discussions focus on healthcare expansion, future-ready education, women’s empowerment and strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Post-Budget Webinar 2026-27 organised by the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, centred on the theme “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Fulfilling Aspirations of People.” The virtual event brought together policymakers, academic leaders and stakeholders to deliberate on initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s higher education ecosystem and aligning it with national development priorities.

During his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s focus on preventive and holistic healthcare, noting that the country’s medical infrastructure has expanded significantly in recent years. He pointed to the establishment of new medical colleges, the growing network of Ayushman Bharat health facilities and Arogya Mandirs and improved access to healthcare services reaching even remote villages.

The Prime Minister also emphasised the importance of connecting the education system with the real-world economy, stressing the need to increase focus on emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, automation, digital economy and design-driven manufacturing. He said these sectors will play a critical role in shaping an innovation-driven economy and preparing India’s workforce for future technologies.

The webinar also featured breakout discussions on strengthening higher education infrastructure and expanding inclusive opportunities. Key proposals included the development of five integrated university townships, establishing girls’ hostels in districts with STEM institutions to support greater participation of women in science and technology education and initiatives like Divyangjan Kaushal Yojana to enhance skill development and employment prospects for persons with disabilities.
