Jaipur, December 1, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the growing impact of the Fit India Sundays on Cycle initiative during the 128th episode of Mann Ki Baat, highlighting its role in encouraging citizens—especially youth—to adopt fitness as a daily habit.
Coinciding with his remarks, the 51st edition of the nationwide cycling drive was held in Jaipur, led by Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Olympic medallist and Rajasthan Sports Minister. Nearly 1,000 children participated in Jaipur alone.
Col. Rathore credited PM Modi for consistently inspiring the nation toward a healthier lifestyle, noting the Prime Minister’s emphasis on yoga, cycling, millets (shree anna), reducing obesity, and the slogan “Fitness Ka Dose, Adha Ghanta Roz.”
The latest edition also saw journalists from across India join the cycling rallies in their respective states.
At the ongoing Khelo India University Games in Jaipur, a special Fit India Zone has been set up at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium, featuring a Fitness Challenge Zone, Cycling Zone, and holistic physical-mental assessments by Abhinav Bindra Target Performance.
Launched in December 2024 under Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Sundays on Cycle has evolved into a nationwide community fitness movement. Today, more than 4,000 NaMo Fit India Cycling Clubs and lakhs of citizens participate weekly.
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) ensures large-scale participation with events held every Sunday across SAI Training Centres, Khelo India Centres, and 23 National Centres of Excellence, from Assam and Punjab to Manipur, Ladakh, and beyond.
