Chandigarh: Panjab University Chandigarh has officially announced that admissions through the PUMEET (Panjab University Migration Engineering Entrance Test) will be discontinued starting from the academic session 2026–27.
According to a press release issued by the Controller of Examinations, the decision has been taken due to administrative reasons. The notice is intended to inform both the general public and prospective candidates who were planning to seek admission through the PUMEET route.
PUMEET has traditionally served as an entrance test for lateral entry into engineering programmes, allowing diploma holders and other eligible candidates to secure admission into undergraduate engineering courses at the university.
With this decision, candidates will now have to explore alternative admission routes or entrance examinations for lateral entry into engineering programmes offered by the university or other institutions.
The university has not yet announced any replacement mechanism or alternative admission process for candidates affected by this change.
