Chandigarh, India: The Srimanta Sankardev Chair at Panjab University, Chandigarh, has officially released an advertisement inviting applications for two Senior Research Fellow (SRF) positions. These roles are part of a specialized project titled "Sr" manta Sankardev, a" med at advancing scholarly understanding of the renowned saint-scholar. Located in the vibrant academic hub of Chandigarh, specifically within the Department of Sanskrit at Arts Block-1, these positions offer a significant opportunity for researchers to contribute to a high-profile cultural and historical project.
To be eligible for these fellowships, candidates must hold a Post Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum of 60% marks. A critical requirement for applicants is a demonstrated history of previous research specifically related to Srimanta Sankardev. Furthermore, applicants must be under 35 years of age as of the closing date of the advertisement. They must not currently be receiving any other scholarship or grant from the government, state, or private sectors. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview at the office of the Chairperson, Department of Sanskrit, Panjab University. Those selected for the interview must also provide an affidavit on a Rs. 10 stamp paper, duly attested by an authorized magistrate, confirming they are not claiming any other financial assistance or fellowships. No TA/DA will be provided to candidates for attending the interview.
Interested scholars should submit their applications, along with a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae and a research proposal, to the Department of Sanskrit. Submissions can be made via email to sschair@pu.ac.in or by post. The absolute deadline for all applications is March 21, 2026. After the deadline, the date and time for interviews will be communicated exclusively to shortlisted candidates via email, as no separate physical interview letters will be issued.
