An online lecture on the topic “Boot Camp: Career Avenues for Psychology and Allied Fields” was successfully organized by the University Counseling and Guidance Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) on 17th February 2022.

The lecture was organized by the Centre to provide students with an overview of the numerous career opportunities available in psychology and allied fields.

Prof. Naved Iqbal, Director, University Counseling and Guidance Centre welcomed the participants and the Guest Speaker Ms. Sheema Hafeez, consultant psychologist. Ms. Sheema Hafeez outlined the various fields of psychology and allied subjects that one can pursue, the nature of work involved and their scope. She also gave an insight into those areas of work where psychologists are in demand, such as Product Managers, UX researchers, Sports psychologists, and many more. She addressed different queries from participants after her presentation. 

A large number of teachers, administrative staff and students attended the program. Career counseling sessions are also organized at the Centre regularly for the students of the university.
