Online Certificate Course on Consumer Law and Practice

:- The course is planned to deliberate upon the new developments in the field of Consumer Law

New Delhi: The Chair of consumer law of National Law University of Delhi is going to organise 3rd edition of Online Certificate Course on Consumer Law and Practice from August 22 to 23, 2022 under the aegis of Department of Consumer Affairs Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Government of India. The course is planned to deliberate upon the new developments in the field of Consumer Law including the new Consumer Protection Act, 2019, enforcement experience especially the working of the consumer regulator that is Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA), provisions related to product liability, mediation and several other mechanisms provided under the new law which appear promising for protection of consumer interests, challenges arising out of new age economy.

The themes to be covered in the courses are:

  • Salient Features of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019

  • Role and Working of CCPA

  • Role of Mediation in Redressal Mechanism: Case Studies

  • Consumer Protection under Sectoral Laws

  • Health Care Sector and Consumer Protection 

  • New Developments

  • Food Safety Law & Consumer Protection

  • Insurance Sector and Consumer Protection

  • Landmark Decisions: Case Studies

  • New Age Challenges: Issues and Concerns

  • Consumer Law: Practice and Procedure 

  • Consumer Protection: Way Forward

The duration of course is two days from August 22 to 23. The course can be attended by Faculty Members, Research Scholars, Advocates, PG/ Graduate/ Under Graduate Students and Consumer Rights Activists. On successful completion of the course the certificate will be awarded to NLUD to all the candidates by Chair on Consumer Law. The registration fee is Rs.2000.
