New Delhi: The Ministry of Education has invited applications for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (CSSS) for the academic year 2025–26. The scheme, sponsored by the Department of Higher Education, supports meritorious students in pursuing higher studies.

Applications for Fresh and Renewals

The online application process is now live on the National Scholarship Portal (http://scholarships.gov.in).

Fresh Applications: For new candidates seeking scholarship for 2025–26.

Renewals: For students already availing the scholarship – including 1st Renewal (2024 batch), 2nd Renewal (2023 batch), 3rd Renewal (2022 batch), and 4th Renewal (2021 batch).

Last Date and Verification

The last date to apply online is October 31, 2025. Applicants must ensure that their institutions verify the online forms and, if required, check original documents. The Ministry has clarified that unverified applications will be treated as invalid.

Eligible students are strongly advised to apply within the stipulated timeline to avoid last-minute delays. The CSSS remains one of the key financial support schemes for students from across the country, aimed at promoting equitable access to higher education
