New Delhi -The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has announced the application process for its Internship Scheme for 2026. The programme is designed to provide hands-on experience to students from diverse academic backgrounds, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and research scholars.

Interested candidates must apply online through the official DPIIT internship portal by filling out the application form, submitting mandatory details, verifying their mobile number and email ID, and clicking on “Submit.” All applications received online are compiled by the Establishment Division, and selections are made by the concerned divisions based on requirements and approval from the competent authority.

The internship portal remains open twice a year—from 1st March to 30th April and 1st September to 31st October. Applications submitted between March and April are considered for internships from June to August, while those received between September and October are considered for internships from November to January.

Selected candidates are informed after due approval, and internship offers are issued accordingly. The scheme aims to enhance students’ understanding of policy-making, administration, and sectoral initiatives handled by DPIIT.
