New Delhi. : The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that registrations for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 will open in October 2025. The exam will be held in two sessions—January and April 2026—allowing candidates two attempts to improve their scores.
In its latest advisory issued on September 29, the NTA urged candidates to update and verify crucial documents such as Aadhaar cards, disability certificates (UDID card), and category certificates (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL) before filling out the application form. Any discrepancies, it warned, could lead to rejection or complications during admission.
Aadhaar Details Must Match Records
Students must ensure that their Aadhaar card reflects accurate details, including:
- Name (as per Class 10 certificate)
- Date of birth
- Photograph
- Address
- Father’s name
Candidates applying under the PwD category should ensure their disability certificates are valid and renewed if necessary, while those seeking reservation benefits must hold up-to-date category certificates.
Check Official Websites for Updates
Applicants are advised to frequently visit the official NTA websites—nta.ac.in
and jeemain.nta.nic.in —for detailed notifications, application guidelines, and schedule updates.
For JEE Main 2025, the first session was held from January 22 to 30 and the second from April 2 to 8, with registrations opening on January 2. NTA is expected to follow a similar pattern for 2026, beginning with the release of the city intimation slip before admit cards are issued.
