New Delhi. : The Nokia Foundation has announced the Nokia Scholarship 2026 to support doctoral students pursuing research in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) and related scientific fields. The scholarship aims to encourage high-quality and fast-progressing doctoral research.
The Nokia Scholarship is available to students pursuing PhD studies at a Finnish university or Finnish applicants conducting doctoral studies abroad. The program is designed to motivate outstanding doctoral candidates to complete excellent PhD research projects.
Applicants are encouraged to apply when they already have one or more accepted research publications that will be included in their doctoral dissertation. Candidates must also demonstrate a strong record of high-quality and efficient doctoral progress.
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must obtain a commitment statement from their principal supervisor, who must be a professor, docent, or senior scientist at the university where the applicant is pursuing the doctoral degree. The supervisor is required to submit this statement through the electronic application system.
Scholarship Amount
- The Nokia Scholarship can provide up to €7,500 to selected doctoral candidates. The scholarship can be awarded only once to an individual.
Application Timeline
- The application process for the Nokia Scholarship will begin on 3 August 2026, and the deadline to apply is 15 September 2026.
Result Announcement
The list of selected scholarship recipients will be published in December 2026 on the Nokia Foundation website, and scholarship funds will be transferred directly to recipients by the end of December 2026.
