New Delhi.:National Law University (NLU), Delhi has announced an open invitation for highly eminent individuals in the interdisciplinary field of legal education and research to apply for positions as Honorary/Distinguished Professors, Professors of Practice, and Visiting Professors.
Invitation for Expression of Interest
NLU Delhi is seeking applications from distinguished professionals, including eminent professors, retired judges, bureaucrats, senior advocates, and other experts with a passion for contributing to legal education and research. Interested candidates are invited to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI), including their ideas, plans, and a curriculum vitae. Applications should be sent to opportunities@nludelhi.ac.in, specifying the intent to apply for the desired position (Honorary/Distinguished Professors, Professors of Practice – full-time/part-time, Visiting Professors – full-time/part-time).
Positions and Eligibility Criteria
1. Honorary/Distinguished Professors:
This position is open to any distinguished scholar whose association with NLU Delhi would enhance its academic activities. Honorary/Distinguished Professors will be involved in academic activities and provided with adequate facilities for their duties. Travel reimbursement, hospitality, and honorarium will be provided as determined by the Vice-Chancellor and approved by the Executive Council.
2. Professors of Practice:
Distinguished experts with at least 15 years of service/experience at a senior level in the legal profession or related fields are eligible. Formal academic qualifications are not essential if candidates have exemplary professional practice. Responsibilities include developing and designing courses, delivering lectures, mentoring students in innovation and entrepreneurship, enhancing industry-academia collaborations, and conducting joint research projects. 3. Visiting Professors:
Distinguished or superannuated individuals from India and abroad with special competence in relevant fields may be invited by the Vice-Chancellor. Visiting Professors will deliver lectures, conduct seminars, and participate in teaching and research activities. Travel expenses, hospitality, and honorarium will be provided as decided by the Vice-Chancellor and reported to the Executive Council.
