NIT Rourkela Records 1,340 Placement Offers in 2025–26; Highest CTC Reaches ₹1.31 Crore
Rourkela, : Students of NIT Rourkela have recorded strong placement and internship outcomes during the recently concluded 2025–26 placement drive, securing 1,340 placement offers across academic programmes.
The institute also reported 364 six-month internship offers, which could provide students with opportunities for Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) after successful completion of their internships. In addition, pre-final-year students secured 258 summer internships, the highest number recorded in the institute's history.
B.Tech Placement Rate at 95.47%
The B.Tech programme recorded a placement rate of 95.47%. The highest CTC reached ₹131 lakh per annum (₹1.31 crore), while the programme recorded an average CTC of ₹15.33 LPA and a median CTC of ₹12.50 LPA.
Computer Science and Engineering students also secured a highest CTC of ₹83.60 LPA.
According to the institute, all registered candidates in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering secured placement opportunities.
Six other programmes — Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Design, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering — recorded placement rates above 90%.
M.Tech Students Record ₹46.38 LPA Highest CTC
The M.Tech programme also recorded strong placement outcomes.
- Highest CTC: ₹46.38 LPA
- Highest CTC in CSE: ₹46.38 LPA
- Highest CTC in Electronics and Communication Engineering: ₹44 LPA
- Average CTC: ₹11.90 LPA
- Median CTC: ₹9 LPA
The highest internship stipend during the season reached ₹1.50 lakh per month. More than 83 students secured annual packages exceeding ₹30 LPA.
374 Recruiters Participate
The placement drive witnessed participation from 374 recruiters, with around 50% being first-time recruiters.
The Software and IT Services sector accounted for a significant share of recruiters, alongside sectors such as Manufacturing, BFSI, Electronics and Education.
The institute also highlighted strong participation from core sectors.
