Bengaluru: According to the latest NIRF ranking released by the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 15, IISc Bangalore assumes the title of being the Best University in India.
The rankings enable to assess the Indian institutes based on several parameters which includes teaching-learning resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcome, outreach and inclusivity and perception. The rankings that are released are for institutes on 11 categories and subject domains including overall, college, university, medicine, engineering, pharmacy, dental, law etc.
IISc Bangalore, JNU, and Jamia Milia Islamia assumed the top three positions in the university category. Here are the top 10 Universities in NIRF Ranking for 2022.

Rank 2: Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi
Rank 3: Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi
Rank 4: Jadavpur University, Kolkata
Rank 5: Amrita Viswa Vidya Peeth, Coimbatore
Rank 6: Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi
Rank 7: Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal
Rank 8: Calcutta University, Kolkata
Rank 9: Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore
Rank 10: University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad
In 2021, IISc Bangalore remained at the top of NIRF ranking universities, followed by the sudden entry of Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai in the second place and JNU remained in the third place followed by University of Hyderabad and Tezpur University, Assam at number four and five respectively.
