Ninth Convocation held at CUH

Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh presented the progress report of the University and thanked the distinguished guests for their presence. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the students who received the degrees as well as gold medals and wished them for their bright future.

Mahendragarh, 29 March 2023: The Ninth Convocation of Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh was held on Wednesday, 29 March, 2023. On this occasion, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Former Governor of Assam  was present as the Chief Guest while Prof. Kailash Chandra Sharma, Vice-Chairperson, Haryana State Higher Education Council was present as Guest of Honour. The Convocation began with the University’s Kulgeet. On this occasion, the Chief Guest Prof. Jagdish Mukhi said, congratulate all the students who got degrees. I wish to point out that behind this degree- is the hard work of their family members and teachers”. Calling upon the students, he said that the University students would bring laurels to the country and the University in the area they would go to build their career.

He also said that the purpose of education is not only to get a job but also to prepare a good citizen. He said, “I believe that you will use your education for the betterment of the weak and uneducated people. Students should be careful in setting goals in life and achieve it with strong will and hard work”. Inspiring the teachers, Prof. Mukhi said that research should be taken forward by focusing on national as well as local challenges and problems. The Chief Guest praised the experiments and efforts being made in research and innovation areas in the University. Discussing all the options available as per the National Education Policy 2020, he said, “Through this policy education as well as research will be promoted and there will be a consolidated establishment of ancient and new values. All the students should be filled with the feeling of nationalism and it should also be displayed by their conduct”.

The Guest of Honour Prof. Kailash Chandra Sharma said, “The Convocation ceremony has now returned to Indian culture. This is an opportunity to bring the acquired education to life. We should take a pledge to put education into practice”. Motivating the students, Prof. Sharma said that the philosophy of Indian education cannot be to just get a 'package'. It has been our culture to give realistic and spiritual education. In compliance with the National Education Policy 2020, a self-reliant and self-sufficient India will definitely be made through the youth by including the proud subjects of Indian culture and mother tongues. Pride-free knowledge should make your life better, this is my wish.

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the students who received the degrees as well as gold medals and wished them for their bright future. He said, “This day will mark a new height in the lives of the degree-seeking students. After completing studies and research, our students are entering a world of new possibilities”. He also congratulated the parents and teachers for empowering the students while helping them fulfill their dreams. Referring to the three pillars of India's development in the 21st century, he said that with quality education, state-of-the-art research and innovation, we would be successful in making a self-reliant and developed India. Incorporating the concept of Mini India, the University is imparting education to 53 percent students of 25 other states besides Haryana. In the light of the National Education Policy 2020, the University is committed for the all round development of the students through value based education, through LOCF, CBCS and Blended Learning. The education and knowledge is also being imparted through seminars, workshops, research projects and MoUs with foreign universities to ensure academic, community and national interest.

Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof.  Sushma Yadav, said, “Our honor has increased with the achievements and presence of all our students and also the most inspiring and successful distinguished guests”. Addressing the degree receiving students, she said, “You should make knowledge worth useful for the service to the nation. This gesture itself shall bring laurels to the University”. 

Former Education Minister of Haryana Prof. Rambilas Sharma was present in the program. Besides, members of the Executive Council, Academic Council and Court of the University, dignitaries from different educational institutions, Deans of different Schools, Prof. Sunil Kumar, Registrar; Prof. Rajiv Kaushik, Controller of Examinations; Dr. Vikas Kumar, Finance Officer, Dr. Santosh C H, University Librarian and Heads of the various Departments, teachers, students and researchers were present in the Convocation.  

Degrees conferred to 1053 students including 43 Gold Medals. At the 9th Convocation of CUH, Ph.D, M.Phil, Graduate and Post-graduate degrees were awarded to 1053 students and researchers. Among these, 120 students in B.Tech, 112 students in B.Voc. while in Post-Graduate 781 students were conferred degrees. Ph.D. degree was awarded to 22 researchers and M.Phil. to 18 researchers. Among 1053 students and researchers, 598 male and 455 female were awarded degrees.
