New Delhi, March 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the conduct of Stage-2 of the NIFT Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026 for shortlisted candidates seeking admission to Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes for the academic session 2026–27.
The Stage-1 examination, held on February 8, 2026, across 129 centres in 97 cities, saw participation from thousands of aspirants in both Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Paper-Based Test (PBT) modes. The results were declared on March 20, 2026.
Shortlisting Criteria
Candidates have been shortlisted for Stage-2 based on their performance in Stage-1, following the approved category-wise seat matrix of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The shortlisting ratio is 1:4 (one seat to four candidates), ensuring fair representation across categories, including provisions for PwD candidates.
Stage-2 Details for PG Programmes
For postgraduate programmes such as M.Des., M.F.M., and M.F.Tech., Stage-2 will consist of Personal Interviews.
- Dates: April 6 to April 11, 2026
- Venue: New Delhi only
All shortlisted candidates must appear as per the schedule mentioned in their Interview Call Letter. Requests for changes in date or venue will not be entertained.
Stage-2 Details for UG Programmes
Stage-2 for undergraduate programmes includes multiple assessment formats:
- B.Des.: Situation Test to evaluate creativity, material handling, and model-making skills
- B.Des. (NLEA): Studio Test + Personal Interview (same day)
- B.Des. (Artisans): Artisan Skill Test + Personal Interview (same day)
- B.F.Tech. (NLEA): Technical Ability Test (OMR-based) + Personal Interview
These tests will be conducted in approximately 20 cities across India.
Details regarding exam date, centre, city, and reporting time will be mentioned in the Stage-2 Admit Cards, which will be released soon.
