NIFT calls for research articles for the 2nd Volume of the 'NIFT Journal of Fashion'

:- This year’s theme is 'Sustainable Futuring: Policies, Strategies and Practices'

New Delhi: National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) announces a call for research articles for the second volume of the 'NIFT Journal of Fashion'. Each volume of the annual peer reviewed open access research journal has a definite theme of wide-ranging significance on different aspects of fashion with critical thinking on multiple perspectives of relevance to the wider academia and fashion industry. 

This year’s theme is 'Sustainable Futuring: Policies, Strategies and Practices' which focuses on new ways of thinking and views through the lens of national and global perspectives and experiences. Articles that further compelling dialogues on sustainability in the fashion domain emerging from the intersection of education, design, technology, marketing and management/business and enterprise are welcomed. Under these core areas, the contributions can addresses one or more of the following sub-themes: 

  • Apparel production and sustainable ecosystems 

  • Artificial Intelligence in garment manufacturing systems

  • Blockchain and sustainable supply chains 

  • Fashion and green and blue economies 

  • Recycling and upcycling 

  • Resilience, independence and interdependence for sustainable livelihoods in grassroot enterprises, handicrafts and handloom sectors 

  • SDGs and Environmental Safeguard Policies in India 

  • Sustainability and fashion in the Anthropocene 

  • Sustainability studies in fashion education 

  • Sustainability approaches by corporate businesses

  • Vegan alternatives in apparel and accessories 

  • Women's enterprises and sustainability 

The research article, complete in all respects and formatted according to the author guidelines should be submitted via email at editor.njf@nift.ac.in by August 30, 2022.
