IT University Launches 24 New Courses for 2026 27; Online Applications to Open from February 2

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University)has announced the launch of 24 new undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the session 2026-27. Online application will open for February 2, expanding higher education opportunities across emerging and in-demand fields.

Delhi - Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University)  has introduced 24 new academic programs from the 2026-27 session, reflecting its continued efforts to expand and modernise higher education offerings in Delhi. Online applications for the new session will begin from February 2.

The announcemaent was made at a formal event attended by Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood and IP University, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mahesh Verma. The university said the expansion is aimed at aligning academic programmes with evolving industry demands and student interests, especially in emerging and high growth sectors. 

Among the newly introduced programmes are Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), MTech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, BTech in Computer Science with specialisations in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Business Systems, BSc Clinical Psychology, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), and MA in Mass Communication (Weekend) for working professionals.

The university has also launched new teacher education and inclusive education courses, covering multiple disability specializations, in line with the government's focus on inclusive and and equitable education. In addition to new courses, IP university has affiliated nine new institutions this year expanding it's academic reach and capacity. Several programs are already running from the Narela campus, with further expansion planned to accommodate growing student demand across different parts of Delhi. 

Speaking at the event, Education Minister Ashish Sood said public institutions like IP University play a crucial role in ensuring accessible and affordable higher education, helping reduce the need for students to leave Delhi for quality academic opportunities. 

Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahesh Verma stated that the university continues to update its curriculum to include modern pedagogical approaches and technological advancements. He added that the goal is to be too equip students with both academic knowledge and practical industry relevant skills. 

Admissions for the 2026–27 session will be conducted through a combination of common entrance tests and national-level examinations, including JEE Main, NEET, CAT, CMAT, CLAT and CUET, depending on the programme. The university has fixed a one-time application fee of ₹2,500 for all candidates.

University officials said the expansion marks a significant milestone in strengthening Delhi's higher education ecosystem, offering students more choices in specialised and emerging fields while supporting the city's long-term socio-economic development.
