NEET UG Counselling 2026: Round 2 Registration Ends Today

There are only a few hours left for all NEET UG aspirants waiting to enter the Round 2 registration for the MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will be closing the registration and payment for Round 2 today, 8th September 2026

Registrations for NEET UG 2026 qualifiers are still open at the MCC official portal at mcc.nic.in and should be completed well within the official deadline The deadline for registration is not the only deadline. Candidates will have time to prepare their college preferences.

The distinction between registration and choice filling matters. A candidate who has not registered by September 8 cannot simply rely on the September 9 choice-filling deadline.

659 Seats Increment In Round 2

For Round 2, MCC has increased the number of seats by 659, consisting of 395 MBBS, 125 BDS, and 139 BSc nursing. These seats are spread across institutions that fall under the MCC Counselling. After this, MCC increased Round 2 by 30 MBBS seats, distributed across 3 colleges:

  • Bagalkote Medical College and Research Institute, Karnataka – 15 seats
  • Government Medical College, Chapra, Saran, Bihar – 7 seats
  • Shri Ram Janki Medical College and Hospital, Samastipur, Bihar – 8 seats
  • These 30 MBBS seats are under AIQ.

Therefore, candidates should constantly check the latest updated seat matrix instead of the older one.

What Candidates Must Do Today

Candidates yet to register should submit their applications and pay the applicable fees before the deadline. Candidates who have already registered should focus on compiling their preference lists. The Choice filling window is open till 10 AM today (9 September), and choice locking will be open in the meantime from 4 PM yesterday (8 September) to 10 AM today (9 September).

Candidates are advised to check the latest seat matrix before making their final choices, especially after the introduction of new MBBS seats.  The seat allotment process will commence on 9 September and 10 September, and the Round 2 results will be published on 11 September.

What After Seat Allotment?

Candidates who have been allotted a seat in Round 2 have to report to their respective allotted medical college by 18 September 2021. Candidates are advised to keep their original as well as attested copies of their supporting documents ready to be presented when needed.

The MCC counselling process consists of 15% All India Quota seats, seats in institutions and quota categories managed by the MCC, while state authorities conduct their own counselling processes for State Quota seats. Candidates who did not get a seat in Round 1 Round 2 gives them another opportunity. However, the priority should be on a realistic list. Focus should be more on the quality of the preference list.

NEET UG Counselling 2026: Required Documents

You should have these documents available in most cases:

  • NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard
  • Class 10 certificate
  • Class 12 marksheet
  • Valid photo ID
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Category certificate, if applicable
  • PwD certificate, if applicable
  • Other documents as prescribed by MCC or the allotted institution

You should verify the MCC instructions in accordance with the latest edition and your category before you report, because the requirements for documents may vary.

Where to Look for MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026 Updates

Candidates should go to the MCC website, mcc.nic.in, for registration, choice filling, seat matrix updates, allotment results, and reporting instructions. September 8 is the last date for all aspirants for Round 2 to complete their registration. The major date for Round 2 is September 11, when the MCC is expected to publish the seat allotment result for Round 2.
