NEET UG 2026 Syllabus Revised: Medical Aspirants Get Early Clarity on What to Study

New Delhi. : Medical aspirants preparing for NEET UG 2026 now have a clear and structured roadmap for their studies, as the National Medical Commission (NMC) has officially released the revised syllabus for the upcoming examination. The early announcement is intended to help students streamline their preparation strategy well in advance of the exam cycle.

The updated NEET UG 2026 syllabus was released on December 23 and is available on the official NMC website. It provides chapter-wise topics with brief descriptions for all three core subjects—Physics, Chemistry, and Biology—allowing candidates to align their preparation precisely with the latest exam requirements.

Education experts believe that the early release of the syllabus will reduce uncertainty among aspirants and enable more focused revision, especially for students aiming for top medical colleges.

NEET UG 2026 Syllabus: Subject-Wise Highlights


Physics

  • The Physics syllabus includes key concepts such as Physics and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Oscillations and Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, along with experimental skills.

Chemistry

  • Chemistry covers Some Basic Concepts in Chemistry, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Thermodynamics, Solutions, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Periodic Properties, p-Block, d- and f-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds, fundamentals of Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, organic compounds containing Halogens, Oxygen and Nitrogen, Biomolecules, and Principles of Practical Chemistry.

Biology

  • The Biology section includes Diversity in the Living World, Structural Organisation in Animals and Plants, Cell Structure and Function, Plant Physiology, Human Physiology, Reproduction, Genetics and Evolution, Biology and Human Welfare, Biotechnology and Its Applications, Ecology and Environment.

NEET UG 2026 Exam Date and Application Timeline

With the syllabus now finalised, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the official NEET UG 2026 notification in the coming months. Based on previous trends, the exam is likely to be conducted on the first Sunday of May. If the pattern continues, NEET UG 2026 may be held on May 3, 2026.

The examination is traditionally conducted in a single shift from 2:00 pm to 5:20 pm, with a total duration of three hours (180 minutes).

Regarding registrations, NEET UG 2025 applications opened in early February. Following the same schedule, the NEET UG 2026 application process is expected to begin in the first week of February 2026.

NEET UG: Gateway to Medical Education in India

Since 2020, NEET UG has been the mandatory entrance examination for admission to MBBS and BDS programmes, including premier institutions such as AIIMS and JIPMER, as per Section 14(1) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019.

With the revised syllabus now in place, aspirants are advised to review the updated topics carefully and plan their preparation to stay ahead in the highly competitive medical entrance examination.
