NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: Check your OMR Sheets and Submit Challenges by July 15
For the NEET UG 2026 re-exam, the release of the OMR answer sheets and the opportunity to challenge recorded responses has been made available by the NTA. NTA has provided an opportunity to the candidates to view how their answers were recorded before the result declaration. Candidates will have the opportunity to challenge the recorded responses through the official portal until 11:00 AM on 15th July 2026.
The initiative taken by NTA is the first step to ensure an answer verification tool, allowing candidates to view how their examination answer was processed by the answer verification tool. The window to challenge the answer key has been closed. However, this step is to verify the answer recorded and challenge the OMR Response sheet.
Candidates Can Now Verify Their OMR Responses
NTA has made available procedures through which candidates are now able to:
- Check their scanned OMR answer sheet
- Check responses recorded by the system
- Challenge through the portal and submit the discrepancy
- Download the challenge submission acknowledgment
According to NTA, candidates may only contest responses recorded on the OMR sheet. The challenge to the answer key is no longer available.
Challenge Window Closes July 15

Candidates must do the following:
- Go to the official website neet.nta.nic.in.
- Log in with your Application Number and Password.
- Complete your OTP.

Importance of Checking the OMR Sheet
The final answer key will facilitate the evaluation of the candidate's correct responses, but the OMR sheet will help in verifying if the responses recorded for the candidate have been captured correctly.
If the scanned response contradicts the response marked by the candidate, it will hurt the candidate's final score. Hence, OMR verification before result declaration holds utmost importance. In view of the significant implications, candidates are advised to check every response rather than relying on the scanned copy to be error-free.
Expected Outcome of OMR Verification
After the OMR challenge is completed, the NTA will look into all the legitimate challenges and then continue with the subsequent phases of the evaluation.
After due consideration of the challenges, the final answer key and the result of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be released. Although NTA has not confirmed the date for the results, it is reported that the results will be declared in July. Candidates should keep themselves updated through the official site only.
