The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the NEET UG 2026 Result. With this new development, aspiring candidates can now start the admission process for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other allied medical programs.   • Approximately 20 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.

Top Performers Indicate Stiff Competition

This year, competition remained tough.

According to NTA:

  • 138 people scored above 690.
  • 19 people scored above 700 out of a total of 720.
  • 1,492 people scored above 650.
  • 10,160 people scored above 600.
  • Around 90,780 people scored above 500.

The highest score of 715/720 was achieved by:

  • Aryan Gupta (Punjab)
  • Panshul Bansal (Haryana)
  • The first 17 rank holders were from 8 different states.
  • The distribution of candidates with top performances was spread across the entire country.

 

Women Continue to Lead

This year, the emerging trend was the performance of female candidates.

As per the official data:

  • More than 58% of the qualified candidates are women.
  • Among the female candidates who appeared, 56.8% qualified, while 55.1% of male candidates qualified.
  • Data shows that female candidates have proven their mettle by participating in and succeeding in medical entrance examinations across the country.

 

Qualified Candidates from All States and Union Territories

Candidates have qualified from all 36 states and union territories.

Among the states, the following performance is noteworthy:

  • Uttar Pradesh had the highest number of qualified candidates, with more than 1.7 lakh qualifiers.
  • Even small states like Lakshadweep and Ladakh were featured among the state toppers.
  • 17 State Toppers scored more than 700, while 26 candidates scored more than 690.

  • Enter Application number, DOB and Security Pin
  • Submit

Counselling Process Begins Next

Now that results have been published, the focus is on counselling.

  • Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will hold counselling for 15% All India Quota MBBS and BDS seats.
  • Counselling by the respective state authorities will complete the rest of the seats.
  • NEET will also be used for BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS, and B.Sc. Nursing and BVSc & AH.
  • Candidates should rely only on the official counselling sites.

 

NTA Warns Candidates Against Fraud

NTA cautioned candidates about the fake offers, counselling frauds and people who guarantee seats in medicine.

NTA confirmed they will never write candidates to offer money and they will also never ask for passwords and personal information. Candidates should only use official sites for counselling and admissions.
