Revised Seat Upgrade Policy
In previous years, in order to upgrade their seat, students had to travel and report to the counselling venue multiple times. With the new reforms:
- Students will only have to physically report to the venue one time after the final seat allotment has been accepted.
- Students will only have to physically report to the counselling venue one time after the seat allotment process is complete.
- The seat that is upgraded will be relinquished automatically.
This policy is expected to improve the logistics for students who have to travel multiple times to participate in multiple rounds of counselling.
New Online Seat Resignation Policy
The new online resignation policy also improves logistics for students. Resignation of allotted seats can now be completed on the MCC portal and does not require travel to the allotted college.
Which Seats are Covered Under MCC Counselling?
MCC handles counselling for:
- 15% All India Quota MBBS and BDS seats
- 100% MBBS seats at AIIMS
- 100% MBBS seats at JIPMER
- BHU
- AMU
- Central Universities
- ESIC quota seats
- Some BSc Nursing seats
- Deemed Universities
State Quota seats (remaining 85%) are managed by respective State counseling authorities.
Documents Candidates Must Keep Prepared
Candidates must keep the following before the registration starts:
- NEET UG 2026 scorecard
- Admit card
- Class 10 certificate
- Class 12 mark sheet
- Identity proof
- Category certificate (if any)
- PwBD certificate (if any)
- Passport-size photograph
