New Delhi.: After four years, the NEET UG exam will revert to its pre-COVID pattern, with the optional Section B no longer part of the exam format. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed this significant change, marking a return to the original structure of the examination.
Key Changes in NEET UG 2025:
No Optional Questions: The optional Section B, introduced during COVID-19 to support students, has been discontinued.
Exam Pattern: The exam will consist of 180 compulsory questions—45 each in Physics and Chemistry, and 90 in Biology.
Exam Duration: Candidates will have 180 minutes to complete the paper, with no additional time provided.
Pen-and-Paper Mode: The exam will be conducted in a single shift using the traditional pen-and-paper format.
The NTA stated, "All NEET (UG) 2025 aspirants are hereby informed that the question paper pattern and examination duration will revert to the pre-COVID format, where there will not be any Section B for this year."
Application Process Updates:
NEET UG 2025 applications are expected to open soon.
The APAAR ID, previously used to track students' credits, is no longer mandatory for registration.
