New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has revised the schedule for the second round of the NEET PG Counselling 2026, following the addition of new PG seats to the round 2 seat matrix approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). In a notification dated 07 November 2026, the committee announced various changes to the schedule for the postgraduate medical admissions and counselling process.

With new deadlines in place for registration, preference filling and allotment, the revised schedule provides important information for aspirants for the next round of allotment. Registration for round 2 will begin on 07 November and will end on 14 November 2026. Aspirants will be able to fill in their preferences from 10 November. The provisional seat allotment is scheduled for 16 November, and the result will be announced on 17 November 2026. As per the notification, candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1 can also resign their seat, and edit their registration and fee payment dates before reporting to the allotted institution.

Why Has MCC Revised The NEET PG Round 2 Counselling Schedule?

New Post Graduate Medical Seat Matrix Revised by MCC & NMC As mentioned in MCC’s notice dated 07.11.2022, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved the addition of new seats in the round 2 seat matrix. Changes Needed To Be Made To The Existing Counselling Schedule Due to these changes, it was necessary for the MCC to revise the counselling schedule to provide time to the concerned institutes to check and verify the new seat matrix.

It is mandatory for all the participating institutes to complete the process of verification of the round 2 seat matrix by 11.00 AM on 09.11.2022. Candidates needing to assess their post graduate medical seat options should note that changes in seat matrix can affect their options during next stage of counselling.

Latest Update on Round 2 Registration

Round 2 Registration has opened from 01.00 PM on 07.11.2022 and will be available up to 03.00 PM on 14.11.2022. Candidates needing to register for this round of counselling should do so within the stipulated period. Editing of the registration and payment window will be available from 03.00 PM on 07.11.2022 to 01.00 PM on 14.11.2022.

The payment window will be available up to 06.00 PM on 14.11.2022.  Candidates should give special importance to these closing timings.

Resignation Deadline : Freeze and Float Candidates Must Take Note

MCC has indicated the deadline for candidates who wish to resign their Round 1 seats as 9 November 2026, without forfeiting their security deposit.

Resignation will be done based on the candidate’s status as follows:

• Freeze candidates are required to visit their allotted institute to resign.
• Float candidates are required to submit their resignation online through the MCC portal.

The link in the PDF notification is valid for 6 PM on 9th November. However, the MCC live PG counselling website states the deadline for Round 1 joined candidates’ resignation is 5 PM on 9th November. It is advisable candidates contact MCC for the updated deadline before taking any action.

Choice Filling and Locking: Dates Candidates Should Not Miss

After registration candidates can select their preferred colleges and Post Graduate Medical Courses. As per the revised timeline:

• Choice filling starts on 1st November 2022, at 1 PM.
• Choice filling ends on 16th November 2022, at 11:55 PM.
• Choice locking starts at 4 PM on 14th November 2022.
• Choice locking ends at 11:55 PM on 15th November 2022.

Candidates must carefully assess their chosen preferences before locking them. The preferences have importance in the subsequent seat allocation process.

NEET PG Round 2 Result 2026: When Will MCC Declare the Allotment?

The processing of Round 2 seats has begun on 16th November 2026 and the final result will be out on 17th November 2026. Candidates who get allotted a seat should report to the allotted Institute within the stipulated time between 18th to 24th November 2026.

MCC will verify the details of all the candidates who have joined the Institute, on 25th November 2026. Candidates are required to be updated about both, the date of provisional seat allotment, and final seat allotment results. The official notification has stated that the final Round 2 result will be announced on 17th November 2026.
