New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has scheduled a re-examination for 2,445 candidates who could not complete the NEET PG 2026 examination at two centres in Jaipur due to a technical disruption.
The re-examination will be conducted on September 5, 2026, at 3 PM in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The affected candidates had appeared at the iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura centres bearing test centre numbers 41682 and 41683.
According to NBEMS, an internal power supply problem at the two examination centres prevented the affected candidates from completing the test. The board attributed the technical issue to M/s TCS Ltd., the agency responsible for conducting the examination.

NBEMS has apologised to the affected candidates for the inconvenience and said the separate examination is being conducted to ensure that they receive an equitable opportunity to complete the postgraduate medical entrance examination.
NEET PG 2026: Over 2.65 Lakh Candidates Appeared
The NEET PG 2026 examination was conducted nationwide on August 30, 2026.
NBEMS had scheduled the examination for 2,73,096 candidates across 1,111 examination centres in 339 cities, covering all 36 States and Union Territories.
A total of 2,65,980 candidates appeared for the examination. The examination was successfully completed by approximately 2,63,535 candidates, while 2,445 candidates at the two Jaipur centres were unable to finish the test because of the disruption.
NBEMS Outlines Examination Monitoring Measures
NBEMS said the examination was conducted with extensive real-time monitoring and security arrangements across the country.
The board deployed:
- 2,527 faculty members as Independent Appraisers.
- More than 700 senior faculty members as Flying Squad members.
- 16 Regional Command Centres for examination monitoring and coordination.
- NBEMS and TCS personnel for real-time surveillance.
- Live CCTV monitoring of examination centres from the NBEMS Command Centre in Dwarka.
- Aadhaar-based candidate authentication to help prevent impersonation.
The Flying Squad members included senior medical and academic officials such as Deans, Directors, Medical Superintendents and senior professors.
Affected Candidates to Appear for Fresh Examination
The technical disruption at the two Sitapura centres meant that the affected candidates could not complete their NEET PG examination despite the test being successfully conducted for the majority of candidates nationwide.
NBEMS has therefore decided to conduct a separate examination for these 2,445 candidates on September 5 at 3 PM in Jaipur.
Candidates affected by the disruption are advised to carefully check further instructions, including examination centre and reporting details, issued by NBEMS through its official communication channels.
The board said the decision is intended to provide affected candidates with a fair opportunity to complete the NEET PG 2026 examination and thanked candidates and examination personnel for their cooperation.
