Candidates should be aware of the reporting and admission time written on their respective admit cards.

Revised Exam Pattern for NEET PG 2026

There is a new change this year. NEET PG 2026 will only contain 180 questions, a decrease from the previous 200. The paper consists of 720 marks, whereby a candidate will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer, and a candidate's score will be reduced by 1 mark for each wrong answer. No marks are awarded for unanswered questions.

The 180 questions are distributed equally in 5 sections consisting of 36 questions each, with a duration of 42 minutes for each section. Once a section is completed, candidates will not be able to go back to that section. Thus, this paper is more time-constrained than a completely free-navigation paper.

NEET PG 2026 Exam City Information

On August 12, NBEMS published the NEET PG 2026 test city information. This will be published separately from the final admit card which contains the examinee’s allotted examination city. Therefore, the admit card should be the examination venue reference for the candidate.

What Candidates Must Carry

Candidates must make sure they know what is written on the hall ticket, and bring the requisite documents, which includes:

  • Printed NEET PG 2026 Admit Card
  • Valid Photo Identification as accepted by NBEMS
  • Any other documentary requirement mentioned on the Admit Card

Candidates must make sure they are at the centre well before the report time. Identity verification and the examination-related security arrangements will be conducted at the venue.

NEET PG 2026: One More Warning for Candidates

The NEET PG exam will be held on August 30; the ‘admit card’ will be released on August 24.

Final Thoughts

The date of the release of the NEET PG admit card is August 24.  This has put MD, MS and PG Diploma aspirants in the final stage of exam preparation.  The change is not the date, but the new pattern of the exam: 180 MCQs, 720 marks in 5 sections with a 42-minute time limit for each section.
