New Delhi : The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has confirmed that the NEET PG 2025 will be conducted on June 15, 2025, following the two-shift schedule introduced last year. The official notification, released on March 17, 2025, specifies the two shifts for the computer-based exam:
- Shift 1: 9:00 am to 12:30 pm
- Shift 2: 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Candidates are awaiting the detailed exam guidelines, including eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and marking scheme, which will be made available on the official website, natboard.edu.in.
Eligibility Criteria and Seat Availability
According to the NBEMS guidelines, candidates must complete their mandatory internship by July 31, 2025, in order to be eligible to appear for NEET PG 2025. Each year, approximately two lakh MBBS graduates compete for around 52,000 postgraduate medical seats across India.
Candidates Voice Concerns Over Two-Shift Format
The two-shift model was introduced last year, replacing the traditional single-shift format. However, the normalisation process implemented to ensure fairness across the different shifts led to significant concerns among candidates. Many medical aspirants have raised their voices on social media, criticizing the shift format and questioning its fairness despite the issues faced in 2024. Some candidates have urged NBEMS to reconsider the decision and return to the single-shift format for this year's exam.
