NCLT Opens 106 Vacancies: What You Need to Know
The NCLT (under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs) has announced recruitment for 2026. The recruitment drive has 106 job opportunities from the Joint Registrar to the Staff Car Driver. Positions are available across NCLT benches in several major cities: New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Indore.
The notification (File No. 10/121/2016-NCLT(Pt.VI)) dated 21 May 2026 can be found on the official site nclt.gov.in. Recruitment will be conducted only on a deputation or absorption basis. Therefore, only those who are in service as officers of the Central or State Government Departments, Union Territories, Courts or Tribunals will be eligible to apply. Private candidates will not be eligible to apply for the recruitment.
The application submission started on 21 May 2026 and the last date to submit the applications has been mentioned as 20 July 2026 (60 days from the date of publication in the Employment News).
Post-Wise Vacancy Breakdown and Salary Structure
The 106 vacancies are split into 13 recruitment posts, each with different eligibility criteria and salary bands aligned with the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) scales. Key positions include the following:
- Two posts of Joint Registrar (Level-13) for the Kolkata and New Delhi benches with a salary band of Rs. 1,23,100 - Rs. 2,15,900.
- Six posts of Deputy Registrar (Level-12) for Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Mumbai, and New Delhi with a salary of Rs. 78,800 - Rs. 2,09,200.
- Twelve posts of Court Officer for the Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Indore, Mumbai, and New Delhi benches.
- Twenty-three posts of Private Secretary at various benches with a requirement of shorthand of 100-110 w.p.m.
- Twenty posts of Senior Legal Assistant with a requirement of a Law degree from a recognised university.
- Two posts of Staff Car Driver (Level-2) at New Delhi with a salary band of Rs. 19,900 and above.
The remaining 41 vacancies comprise posts for Assistant, Stenographer Grade-I, Cashier, Record Assistant, Upper Division Clerk (UDC), and Programmer at various benches.
Eligibility and Application Process
Since all positions are based on deputation, eligible candidates are limited to officers who are serving in Government departments and undertakings. The age limit for applicants is 56 years as of the last date of receipt of the application.
The educational qualification required varies from post to post. For Registrar-level posts, Law graduates from recognised universities are eligible. For appointment to the post of Programmer, B.E./B. Tech in Computer Science/IT or MCA are eligible. For the post of Staff Car Driver, applicants must have passed Class X, hold a driving license, and have three years of driving experience.
There is no written examination for these posts. Selection is based on the examination of documents and a judgment made by the NCLT Selection Committee based on the candidate’s APARs for the preceding five years, and the candidate’s experience and the post’s requirements.
The application must be made in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-II) available on nclt.gov.in. Applications made in any other form will not be considered. Applications should be routed through the forwarding authority. The forwarding authority should send the applications to the Secretary, NCLT, New Delhi. There are no application fees.
