NCET 2026 Applications Invited for 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP)

New Delhi. ; The National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited online applications for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026 for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the Academic Session 2026–27.

The NTA has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting NCET by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The entrance test will facilitate admission to ITEP programmes offered by selected Central and State Universities/Institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges across India.

About ITEP

  • The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) is a dual-major programme, where:
  • The first major is Education with school-stage–specific specialization, and
  • The second major is an opted discipline chosen by the candidate.

NCET 2026 Examination Details

  • The NCET 2026 will be conducted in 13 mediums across India in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Important Dates (Tentative):

  • Online Application Submission: 12 February to 10 March 2026 (up to 11:50 PM)
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: 11 March 2026 (up to 11:50 PM)
  • Correction Window: 12 to 14 March 2026
  • Announcement of Exam City: To be announced later
  • Admit Card Download: To be announced later
  • Date of Examination: 17 April 2026 (Friday) (Tentative; subject to change based on election schedule)
  • Answer Key & Recorded Responses: To be announced later
  • Declaration of Result: To be announced later

Counselling & Admission

Candidates qualifying NCET 2026 will be eligible to participate in the counselling/admission process of Central and State Universities, IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges that have been granted NCTE recognition for ITEP for the academic session 2026–27. Institutions may also fill vacant seats later from the pool of NCET-qualified candidates.
