Bengaluru : The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) announced that it has implemented directives to ensure that students, faculty members, and staff do not get infected with COVID-19. The directives are in effect at the campuses based in Manipal, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, and Mangalore and require students to follow COVID appropriate behaviour (wearing face masks, maintain social distancing, etc.) while in class, workplaces, laboratories, libraries, public places and while inside a vehicle. The directives also state that large gatherings must be avoided, employees/students must take vaccination doses (first, second or third dose as applicable) and anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 must be sent for checkup immediately.

These regulations have been put into effect due to rising COVID cases seen in multiple countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also cautioned Indians to be wary of COVID and to wear masks and wash their hands regularly while outside celebrating festivals this week.
