What QS Scores Are Based On: A Global MBA Benchmark
While the QS World University Rankings is a renowned global benchmark, it is important to note that the World MBA Rankings do not rank entire universities, but rather focus on individual MBA programs. As such, the score should be considered in the context of the specific MBA program at a given university.
QS evaluates MBA programs based on the following five criteria:
- Employability
- Alumni outcomes
- Value for money
- Thought leadership
- Diversity
By featuring elements beyond traditional academic excellence, such as the connections between management education, business creation, and leadership, the ranking offers a more nuanced perspective on the value of an MBA.
Manav Rachna SLM: Industry Integrated, Global Exposure
Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies takes pride in offering an integrated and globally exposed management education through diverse disciplines and specialisations. The school offers MBA programs with a choice of industry-specific and dual-degree specializations and international exposure. These include the MBA Global dual-degree programs with KEDGE Business School, France, and Queen Mary University of London, as well as specialized industry and academic collaboration programs in Business Analytics and Finance.
The Manav Rachna SLM entry into the QS World MBA Rankings 2027 thus builds on the school’s focus on academic excellence with industry interface, research, entrepreneurship, and international exposure, as well as diversity.
Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, Manav Rachna, said the School of Leadership & Management’s entry into the QS World MBA Rankings 2027 speaks to the evolution of management education at the school, while Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, noted that the ranking reflects the institution’s commitment to building management education ecosystems that combine scholarship and practice.
QS Rankings and Students Considering an MBA
With this latest ranking, Manav Rachna SLM has joined the ranks of India’s business schools that are making their mark on the global stage. However, while a strong QS ranking can be a useful indicator for prospective students, it is always important to consider a range of factors when choosing an MBA program. While the QS rankings may serve as a useful starting point in comparing the strengths of different MBA programs, students should take a closer look at a range of factors, including program costs, graduate employability, curriculum, specializations, faculty, internships, global exposure, entry requirements, and value for money, among other factors.
In terms of the QS ranking, its significance should be viewed in the context of the school’s academic offerings and access to resources. In terms of Manav Rachna SLM, the 2027 debut in the QS World MBA Rankings, as well as its 51st position in Asia, 9th position in India, and second position for Diversity, adds further weight to the school’s claims of offering a high-quality MBA education. Moreover, the latest rankings highlight a broader trend, in which India is rising in the international business school space. While India had only two business schools in the QS World MBA Rankings 2022, the country now has 19 business schools on the list in 2027.
