Madhya Pradesh Launches FinTech & AI Certificate Courses in 68 Colleges

New courses aim to equip students with industry-ready skills in AI and financial technology. Around 2,000 students to benefit with hands-on training and certification.

MADHYA PRADESH, INDIA: In a major push towards future-ready education, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced the introduction of AI and FinTech certificate courses in 68 government colleges starting from the 2026–27 academic session. The initiative is designed to help students gain practical knowledge in emerging technologies that are rapidly transforming industries.

The programme will focus on Artificial Intelligence and financial technology (FinTech), two of the fastest-growing sectors globally. By integrating these subjects into higher education, the state aims to bridge the gap between traditional academics and industry demands, ensuring that students are better prepared for modern job markets. Developed with support from institutions like IIT Delhi, the course will offer hands-on training and practical exposure. It is expected to train nearly 2,000 students in its initial phase, helping them build skills relevant to the digital economy. The course duration will be around three months (90 hours) and will be delivered in a hybrid format (online + offline). A key highlight of the initiative is its affordability and accessibility. Students will not have to pay course fees, apart from a refundable security deposit, making it accessible to a wider group of learners. The programme also focuses on employability, aiming to enhance students’ chances of securing jobs in tech-driven sectors.

Education experts see this as a significant step towards aligning higher education with industry needs and digital transformation trends. For students, the introduction of such courses provides an opportunity to gain specialised skills alongside their regular degrees, making them more competitive in an increasingly technology-driven job market.
