JMI’s Mo Luckman Ali Ranked Among Top Five Wrestlers at 7th Asian Zurkhaneh Sports & Koshti Pahlavani Championship 2025 in Iran

Jamia Millia Islamia’s Mo Luckman Ali secured 5th position at the 7th Asian Zurkhaneh Sports & Koshti Pahlavani Championship 2025 in Iran, competing among athletes from 20 countries.

 

New Delhi, October 16, 2025: Mr. Mo Luckman Ali, a distinguished wrestler, proud alumnus, and staff member of the Games & Sports Department, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), has earned a remarkable achievement by securing the 5th position at the 7th Asian Zurkhaneh Sports & Koshti Pahlavani Championship 2025, held in Urumieh, Iran, from October 8 to 11, 2025. The championship saw participation from 20 countries, making his accomplishment even more commendable.

Mr. Luckman Ali holds a B.A. (Hons.) in Hindi and an M.A. in Social Work from Jamia Millia Islamia. A seasoned athlete, he has represented JMI in multiple state, national, and international wrestling competitions, earning numerous accolades and medals over the years. His consistent performance and dedication continue to bring pride to the university on the global stage.

Congratulating Mr. Ali on his outstanding achievement, Prof. Mazhar Asif,  Vice-Chancellor of JMI, lauded his commitment, saying that such accomplishments showcase the university’s tradition of excellence in both academics and sports.

Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar of JMI, praised Mr. Ali for his extraordinary performance in Iran and wished him success in future championships.

Prof. Nafis Ahmad, Honorary Director of Games and Sports at JMI, also commended Mr. Ali’s perseverance and hard work, encouraging him to continue striving for excellence and bringing laurels to the university.
