Language is important for quality research: Prof.Tankeshwar Kumar

A three-day National Workshop sponsored by the Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti, Ministry of Education, Government of India, was inaugurated on Tuesday, 29th November at Central University of Haryana (CUH)

 
Haryana: A three-day National Workshop sponsored by the Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti, Ministry of Education, Government of India, was inaugurated on Tuesday, 29th November at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh. While addressing the inaugural session of this workshop focused on research and academic writing in Indian languages, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that the use of one's own language is important for quality research. The Vice-Chancellor said that the new National Education Policy is especially in favor of education in mother tongue and definitely this workshop organized in the University with the help of Indian Language Committee will strengthen the ongoing efforts in this direction.
As a prominent subject expert in the inaugural session of the workshop, Dr. Vijay Dutt Sharma, Former Director of Haryana Granth Academy, threw light on the subject in detail. Earlier, the program started with the lightening of the lamp. Prof. Sarika Sharma, Dean of School of Education and convener of the workshop presented the welcome address and welcomed the various sessions and experts present in the respective sessions of the three day workshop. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that language is the medium which plays an important role in the development of any country. The purpose behind research in Indian languages is to disseminate our knowledge widely. The expression of thoughts always proves useful in the language in which man thinks. If the names of ten developed countries are kept in front, then there will be nine such countries which have moved forward by adopting their own language.Mentioning the importance of language for fundamental research, the Vice-Chancellor stressed on the use of one's own language.
On the first day of the event, after Dr. Vijay Dutt Sharma, in the second session, Dr. Jaspal Singh of University of Jammu expressed his views on the challenges faced by research methods and teaching in Indian languages at higher education level. In this sequence, in the third session, Dr. Babu Ram, Former Professor, Kurukshetra University, expressed his views on the opportunities for knowledge creation in native Indian Languages and in the fourth session, Dr. Jagdish Prasad expressed his views on the usefulness of the research network of Indian languages. In the inaugural session of the program, the stage was conducted by Prof. Nand Kishore of School of Education and the vote of thanks was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Aarti Yadav. On this occasion Prof. Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Prof. Dinesh Chahal, Prof. Pramod Kumar, Prof. Gaurav, Prof. Ravinder Pal Ahlawat were present including a large number of teachers, students and researchers
