Ladakh Administration Launches

Deputy Commissioner and CEO of LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, has directed district officers to initiate extensive educational outreach drives to promote the "MY Bharat" youth empowerment initiative. During a high-level review meeting, administrators formulated an active strategy to conduct institutional sensitization workshops at Government Degree College, Kargil, and various local Higher Secondary Schools to accelerate registration on the national platform. The student community (ages 15 to 29) will gain direct access to skill development, leadership modules, and national-level competitive events—such as the "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat" creative campaigns—with the district administration planning weekly progress audits.

The Deputy Commissioner and CEO of LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, chaired a high-level review meeting to discuss the implementation and promotion of the "MY Bharat" initiative in the district. The meeting took place on July 15, 2026, and the official orders was published across the administrative channels on July 16, 2026. Many important senior officers attended this session, including the Chief Medical Officer, the Assistant Commissioner Development, the Lead District Manager, and representatives from the Culture Academy and Social Welfare Department.

The main aim of the meeting was to increase the involvement of local youth in various development and nation-building activities. During the discussions, officials shared that MY Bharat have already grown very big across the country, with more than 2.2 crore youth registered on the portal. The administration now want to bring this same speed to the remote parts of Ladakh so that the students here does not miss any benefit.

Directives Issued for College and School Level Outreach : 

To make the program successful, Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar have given clear instructions to the concerned departments. He explicitly directed that MY Bharat coordinators must conduct educational outreach and sensitization workshops at the Government Degree College, Kargil, and other local Higher Secondary Schools. The administration have told that visiting these institutions is the best way to directly connect with the student community.

The officials has been advised to work in tight coordination with the Principal of Government Degree College and the heads of various Higher Secondary Schools. By setting up these special guidance camps inside the campus area, the department plan to make the registration process much easier for students. The authority feel that close teamwork between the administration and college management will help to cover every single youth in the district.

Skill Development and Leadership Opportunities Provided : 

The MY Bharat platform is an autonomous body created to empower young people through multiple educational and leadership camps. The official report highlights that the portal regularly organize camps for skill development, decision-making, volunteerism, and civic responsibilities. By joining these programs, the student community can learn valuable skills that help them in their future careers.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed that coordinated efforts will help more young people benefit from these opportunities. The program include both rural and urban youth, making sure that students living in far villages of Ladakh also get equal exposure. The platform also run student quizzes and special training modules that help in building a strong character, which is very useful for college students.

Calendar of Events and Student Engagement Drive : 

The management team reported that the initiative does not just focus on online registration but also involves active groundwork. The body regularly conducts activities like plantation drives, sanitation campaigns, leadership workshops, and celebration of national days. For example, the ongoing youth-led creative campaigns, such as the "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat" initiative, have already opened district-level registrations on the portal.

Students aged between 15 to 29 years are eligible to take part in these different competitions like music, dance, short films, and poetry. The administration want the local schools and colleges to actively prepare students for these national events. This will give the youth of Ladakh a big stage in New Delhi to show their talent during the upcoming national finals.

Stakeholders Commit to Effective System Implementation : 

The review meeting concluded with a strong promise from all the department heads to work together for the effective implementation of the project. The district administration have planned to monitor the progress of college sensitization programs every week. The field officers will submit regular data about how many new students from Ladakh have joined the platform.

The authority believe that these workshops will bring a major change in how students participate in community work. By spreading awareness about the opportunities available on the portal, the state want to turn local youth into active partners for nation building. The school and college heads are expected to start the special awareness schedule from the coming week itself.
