Calculating Your Percentage According to The Kerala SSLC Grading System
The Kerala SSLC marks shift from a percentage system to a grading system is unique. Each subject is awarded a grade based on which marks fall in which grade. Grade A+ is awarded to marks 90 to 100, grade A to marks 80 to 89, grade B+ to marks 70 to 79, grade B to marks 60 to 69, grade C+ to marks 50 to 59, grade C to marks 40 to 49, grade D+ to marks 30 to 39, and grade D to marks below 30. In order to be declared "Eligible for Higher Studies" (EHS), a student must get at least a D+ in all subjects. A student with a D grade or below in at least one subject is declared "Not Eligible for Higher Studies" (NHS).
The grading system SSLC result, aims to give students an approximate percentage, through the Total Grade Point (TGP) system. Students add the grade points for each of the ten subjects and multiply the result by 1.11. For example, a TGP of 86 results in an approximate percentage of 95.46%. It is important to note that the final grade is a product of the marks received for a student’s Terminal Evaluation (written exam) and Continuous Evaluation (internal assessment). To receive a D+ grade, a student must earn at least 30% on the Terminal Evaluation, regardless of internal marks.
