Karnataka: Schools to be shut for two days due to heavy rains

:- The meteorological department announced an orange alert in Dakshina Kannada (DK) for the next two days

Karnataka: Karnataka’s district administration Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi declared two days of holidays on the grounds of continuous rainfall in the coastal region. DK deputy commissioner KV Rajendra and DC of Udupi M Kurma Rao declared holidays in the district. Educational institutions remained closed on Tuesday as well based on an earlier order.

The meteorological department announced an orange alert in DK for the next two days. Udupi Dc declared holidays for all Government and private schools and colleges on Wednesday as well.

The continuous heavy rainfall has resulted in landslides and damages to the houses in two of the coastal districts. Parts including Ullal in DK and Kundapur and Maravanthe beaches reported sea erosions. Traffic disturbances were reported in several places due to the flooding of roads from rainwater.
