Who Can Apply for Karnataka PGCET Extended Round 2026?

KEA has identified certain categories of candidates eligible to participate in the additional seat allotment process. Eligibility would depend on whether the candidate had been given a seat and whether the admission process had been completed. Eligible candidates are :

1.Candidates who have not been given a seat

Candidates who were not given any seat in any of the earlier counselling rounds are eligible to participate in the extended round. They have to pay caution deposit, if any, and exercise new options within the notified time limit.

2. Candidates who have reported to their college

Candidates who have reported to the college are eligible to participate in the extended round. These candidates are, however, exempted from paying caution deposit, according to KEA instructions.

3. Candidates who have cancelled their allotted seat

Candidates who have cancelled their allotted seats after paying the prescribed fee are also eligible to participate in the extended round. However, these candidates would also be required to pay caution deposit and exercise new options.

Who Are Not Eligible for the Extended Round?

Candidates who had been given a seat in the October 13 to 15 allotment, did not pay the fees and did not report to the allotted college are ineligible to participate in the extended round directly. However, KEA has given these candidates an opportunity to participate in the extended round by taking up one of the permitted actions by October 31, 2026, 06.00 p.m.

Candidates have the following options:

Pay the applicable course fee and report to the allotted college by the stipulated time. After completing admission formalities, they can participate in the extended round for seat upgradation. Cancel the allotted seat online by paying a penalty of ₹10,000.

Candidates who have paid the course fee and opted for seat cancellation, will get the balance amount after deducting ₹10,000 as penalty, as per the instructions reported. Not completing either of the above options, by the stipulated date, may disqualify the candidates from the extended allotment process.

Fresh Option Entry Mandatory for all Participants

One of the major instructions for the extended round is that participants have to enter their options again. KEA will not consider the options submitted for the earlier counselling sessions for the extended seat allotment.

Participants are advised to arrange their preferences of colleges and courses in the correct order and check the available seat matrix before submitting the fresh options. The result of provisional seat allotment will be announced on November 5, 2026 at 1 pm. Participants are advised to visit KEA website regularly for latest updates on result and further admission instructions.
