Karnataka Launches Deepika Student Scholarship for 37,000 Girls

In partnership with Azim Premji Foundation, scheme to provide Rs 30,000 annually until graduation

Bengaluru : The Karnataka government, in collaboration with the Azim Premji Foundation, has introduced the Deepika Student Scholarship to support young women pursuing higher education. Starting from the 2025–26 academic year, the initiative will benefit over 37,000 girl students who have completed their Pre-University Course (PUC) in government colleges.

Each beneficiary will receive Rs 30,000 per year until graduation, covering general degree, professional, and diploma courses. Importantly, the government has confirmed that if the number of eligible applicants exceeds 37,000, all qualified students will still receive the scholarship.

Eligibility

  • Open to female students from government institutions.
  • Applicable for those enrolling in undergraduate, professional, or diploma programmes.
  • Designed to support girls from economically disadvantaged families.

Application Process

  • Eligible students can apply online through the official portal by September 30, 2025. Required documents include:
  • Personal identification proof
  • Certificates of Class 10 and PUC from government institutions
  • Proof of admission into higher education courses
  • Additional documents as specified on the portal
