JTET 2026 Form Closes Today, Are You In or Did You Miss It?

After giving numerous extensions, the JAC Ranchi JTET 2026 online applications will close on June 20. Before the deadline, confirm eligibility and pay the respective fees.

Last Chance: Apply for JTET 2026 Today

If you are interested in teaching in a government school in Jharkhand, today is the day to act. The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi, closes the online application for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) 2026 today, June 20, and this time we have no expectations for extensions.

This date has taken a long journey. The JAC first announced the JTET 2026 on March 28. Applications opened on April 21, and the deadline was pushed back three times May 21, June 2, and June 20. This is expected to be the last call for candidates waiting for “just a little more time.”

The significance of the June 20 deadline is:

  • This is the third and expected final deadline extension.
  • There is no correction window once the application is submitted.
  • Applications submitted after midnight will not be accepted.

The JTET is the eligibility examination for teaching in primary (Classes 1 to 5) and upper-primary (Classes 6 to 8) government schools in Jharkhand. The certificate is granted once and is valid for life. The exam may be taken multiple times to improve the score.

Who Is Eligible and Cost Breakdown

Knowing your current standing is important before making a rush to the portal. JTET eligibility is determined by the paper a candidate opts for, and the stipulations are different for each level.

Key factors for JTET 2026 eligibility:

  • No upper age limit for most candidates, but the minimum age has to be 21 by August 1, 2026
  • For Paper 1 (Classes 1 to 5), candidates have to be Class 12 pass with a minimum of 45 percent and have a D.El.Ed of 2 years
  • For Paper 2 (Classes 6 to 8) qualification criteria are different and are based on graduation and a teacher training program
  • Candidates who are in the 2025-27 teacher training program and are waiting for the final result can also apply
  • General category candidates have to clear either Class 10 or Class 12 from any recognized school in Jharkhand

As per a recent government order, Memo No. 836 dated May 25, eligibility has been extended to trainee teachers. JTET can be attempted under the training in progress condition by the candidates who are part of the 2025-27 teacher training program in recognized institutions.

Candidates pay fees according to the number of papers they opt for:

  • One paper (either Level 1 or Level 2) = INR 1,300
  • Both Level 1 and Level 2 papers = INR 1,500
  • Reserved category candidates avail fee relaxation as per government rules

Completing the Application in Time

Since there are only so many hours left to apply, speed and accuracy are crucial for completing the application. The JAC reported that incomplete and incorrect applications may be disqualified at any point in the hiring process, so applicants should not rush to complete the process.

The application process is as follows:

  • Go to jac.jharkhand.gov.in or go to the JTET exam form portal
  • Register with name, DOB, email, and mobile number
  • Log in with the ID and password to access the form
  • Fill in the form with your educational qualifications, category, and exam centers
  • Uploads should be of your photo and signature in the specified formats
  • Make your payment for the application based on the paper or papers you selected, and do the final steps of submitting and downloading the confirmation page

It is strongly advised to use a desktop or laptop instead of a mobile phone, as the application page may submit errors. JAC has not announced the exam date, but JAC will post the exam schedule as soon as the application process is complete. Applicants should check the site instead of other sources for the exam date, admit card, and any application updates, as JAC will post the updates.

Conclusion

After extending twice for nearly a month, JAC has stated that the application window for JTET 2026 will be closed on June 20, with no further extensions to be offered. For applicants who have been considering the application, the directive is simple: apply now, check the application thoroughly, submit, and retain the confirmation page.

With no further updates on the exam date and no application corrections to be made, the next step is to prepare and wait for announcements from JAC.
