JMI students selected for Study Tour organised by Ministry of Tourism

Two students of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, namely Mohd. Wasil Asrar (Ph.D. in Tourism and Hospitality) and Devesh Thakur (Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management) have been selected amongst 50 students from across India to participate in a Study Tour to Kohima, Nagaland. The selection was based on the criteria decided by the Ministry of Tourism and Association of Indian Universities on the basis of past participation in co-curricular activities and events. The event would be held along with International  Tourism Mart and Nagaland's Hornbill Festival 2021 on 27th - 29th November 2021.

The event is being hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, GoI and the Government of Nagaland. Well-known personalities and ADG Tourism will be attending the event along with representatives of 8 State Governments.  The event consists of various events like a Cultural Programme and Dinner hosted by the Government of Nagaland at the Chief Minister's Residence, a visit to Kisama Heritage Village and Kisama War Museum and Morungs. Further, there will be a B2B meeting and Panel Discussions on Tourism.

 

Sarah Hussain, Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, says, “The students of the Department are very eager to make a positive contribution towards Tourism Industry. Our motto of teaching and learning is ‘Learning by Doing’. It is a matter of great pride that our students are amongst 50 students from across the country to gain from this Study Tour.
