New Delhi: The Deen Dayal Upadhyay KAUSHAL Kendra (DDUKK), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organised a one-day Training cum Workshop on “Application of Real Time PCR in Para Medical Sciences.” The aim of the workshop was to apprise the students with the latest advancements in medical diagnostics to create a dynamic and skilled workforce of the future.
Undergraduate students, lab technicians from DDU-KK and PhD scholars from Faculty of Life Sciences participated in the workshop. Dr Durgesh Singh, Sr. Field Application Specialist, Bio-Rad Laboratories Pvt Ltd. Gurugram began the day’s proceedings with a presentation on quantitative real time-PCR. He introduced the participants to the basic concepts of quantitative estimation and qPCR workflow. Dr Singh also highlighted the key aspects of real time PCR, Data Analysis and troubleshooting.
A talk on the significance of Real time PCR in early cancer detection was delivered by Dr Maria Habib (DDUKK). Later in the day, Dr Singh with his team of professionals demonstrated the setting up of quantitative Real Time-PCR to the participants.
After the felicitation of Dr Durgesh Singh by Hony Director, DDUKK Prof. Jawaid Ahmad Khan the program concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
